What is Mosapride?
|
|
Mosapride
is a new prokinetic agent widely used in Japan and is
structurally related to cisapride. However, it binds
exclusively to serotonin 5-HT4 receptors and has no
dopaminergic action.
|
|
Mosapride, a 5HT-4 receptor agonist, improves insulin sensitivity and
glycaemic control in patients with Type II diabetes
mellitus.

What is Mosapride used for?
|
|
Mosapride
citrate is a new gastroprokinetic agent that enhances
the upper GI motility by stimulating 5-hydroxytryptamine4
(5-HT4) receptors.
|
|
Mosapride citrate, a
substituted benzamide, is a novel 5-HT4
receptor agonist. It has been reported that mosapride
increases the gastric emptying in rats,
stimulates the gastric motor activity in
conscious dogs and increases the electrically evoked
contractions in isolated guinea pig ileum
